The Sound of Silence a Jivamukti Yoga Workshop with Katie Manitsas Friday 21st November, 6pm – 8pm, $20
Katie will be overseas for two months over Christmas so please join us for this last chance in 2008 to practice Jivamukti Yoga with Samadhi Yoga’s director! Silence (in Sanskrit known as ‘mouna’) is an ancient practice which may help us to ground our yoga practice and ourselves; taking the practice to new levels of inner reflection. When we engage in gossip and the dialogues of both external and internal distraction it takes energy away from our ability to concentrate and focus on uniting ourselves with the Divine.
‘I’ve watched people chat away their grace so to speak. The quality of silence allows you to contain the grace you receive. You carry this silence within you even when you are with others. It allows you to hold your centre amid the chaos in life.’ Caroline Myss (from the beautiful book ‘Entering the Castle’)
Don’t worry this workshop will not be conducted in total silence! There will still be a classic Jivamukti music mix to enjoy, but we will spend some time in quiet reflection as well as enjoying readings and teachings from many masters and yogis on the topic of the practice of silence.
