Inspirations from Samadhi Yoga
Quote of the month:
‘In silence, in the silence that lies beyond thought, you can hear the symphony of the Universe. You can hear the whisper of the Word and approach the inner temple wherein dwells the soul.’ Ram Dass
Inspiring people who we love...
If you come to Samadhi regularly then you will have at some stage met the larger than life Sarah T! She is currently raising $20,000 for a project that Sean Corn is heading called 'Off The Mat and Into The World'. All the money Sarah raises will go to the Cambodian Children's Fund (CCF). The CCF runs orphanages and education programs for some of the poorest people in this world. Keep an eye out for workshops and events Sarah will be running at Samadhi.
We also just met the most inspiring young lady from Washington Dc in the US, she is one of the founders of www.AnahataInternational.org. Their aim is to empower people and create social change and healing through yoga.

'The Kamikaze Mind' by Richard James Allen (Samadhi teacher)
The Kamikaze Mind is the story of an astronaut who launched himself into a black hole. The recovered fragments of his mind have been organised alphabetically into a whitty, whimsical, surprisingly touching and laugh-out-loud funny dictionary of a floating mind.A journey from chaos to calm, regret to acceptance, anger to compassion, The Kamikaze Mind is a handbook for keeping a smile on your face and a smile in your heart when you’re on that slippery slope, that big wave, or just the same bus again.
Written by poet, dancer, filmmaker and much loved Yoga teacher Richard James Allen, The Kamikaze Mind documents the protests, longings, contradictions and quirky humor of a mind leaning towards enlightenment but still ensnared in the glorious and sometimes gritty illusions and delusions of the everyday world.
'Spiritual Survival and the City' by Katie Spiers (Samadhi director)
From Samadhi's founder comes this exploration of the philosophical and spiritual teachings of yoga as they apply in everyday life. The book follows closely the teachings of Patanjali as he describes the eight-limbed path to attaining yoga - or deep happiness - for everyone. Filled with practical tips and quotes from spiritual masters, it will uplift and inspire you as well as de-mystifying the spiritual teachings of yoga. Especially great for students who have been practicing yoga for a while and wish to understand more of the philosophy of this ancient tradition.
